I was raised in Holt, Michigan and graduated from Holt High School in 1991. I attended Michigan State University, where I received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1995. My nursing experiences include cardiology, cardiovascular-thoracic surgery, urgent care and nursing administration. I returned to MSU in 2002 to study Veterinary Medicine and graduated with my Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine in 2006. Since that time I have worked as a primary care veterinarian in the Mid-Michigan area. Although difficult, end of life care has always been an interest of mine. I feel there is no greater gift than to help a family and pet find peace and comfort in what is often one of the most difficult time of their lives. Although never easy, I have found people often feel more at ease grieving in the privacy of their own home, and their pets tend to experience less anxiety when passing in their own surroundings.
